Different
Tonight was a night like no other. We went up and down Central Preaching the Gospel. But tonight we walked the streets surrounding downtown ABQ. I had heard that the mayor was doing away with the homeless (putting up a facade). He doesn't want them in the city. From what I hear if they are anywhere for longer than 20 minutes they are arrested. As we walked the streets there were no homeless to be found. Cesar and myself asked where could they be? We continued to walk the streets, I began to see many things that were very interesting.
One thing that was interesting to me was a church on Central and Broadway. The church had a tremendous amount of property and a large set of buildings. There was enough space to feed and let the homeless sleep. But instead it was locked up like a fortress, and the fence had No Trespassing signs stating the fine amount for anyone caught. The thing that got me the most was the church slogan, "People Count."
As we continued we noticed a building called "food for the hungry." Yes you guessed it, it was closed. I'm sure glad people aren't hungry at night.
Cesar stopped me when he saw a bench depicting the city. It was covered in satanic garbage, from tarot cards to skulls. No where on the bench in the depiction of the city was there a Cross. What gets me is the art put on that bench had to be approved by the city.

To Bad for you artist/devil I claim Albuquerque for The Lord in the Name of Jesus Christ
Joshua 1:3 "Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.
We saw a club hidden behind buildings and there was a lot of commotion coming from there so we agreed there was many there that needed Jesus so we tried to find the way to get to it.
As we walked Cesar looked up and said, "Rescue Mission." I noticed a guy sitting outside I thought to myself this guy must work here or something, so we crossed the street and began talking to him. He had been there for a week.
His name was Jose, he had tried to commit suicide a week earlier. He said he didn't have a reason to live, because everything that he had in life had be taken away. We began ministering to him. I could see the hurt hidden in him. I let him know that Jesus took the punishment to bring us peace. We didn't have to carry all of the burdens, we need to lay them at the foot of the cross. Jose said that he wanted to read his Bible but everyone was sleeping so he couldn't turn the lights on. Cesar tells Jose we can read out hear on the street, so Cesar began reading the book of Job. I told Jose to call it all Joy and to let go of his past and make a future with the Lord. We prayed with Jose and he walked into the house with a big smile. Praise God, that is what it is all about.
